How to write a haunted house
Jo Bragg
Everyone’s frontdoor is a floodgate Pisces moon
Nothing unique to me
Nothing new to you
Everyone’s iPhone is a floodgate too
Pixelated waves crashing
Surge my desire
Surge my regret
Swell my
Purge my
Love poems have never seemed so creepy
“You up?” Gemini Rising
Scary
So full of longing
You wanted action
I want rest
You wanted retaliation
I want comfort Taurus Venus
You want a revelation
You want a love poem written about you Aries Sun
Until it happens
How to write a haunted house
*Aeroplane mode*
Ghost
Just go upstairs
Stay inside
Become a memory detective Scorpio Pluto
Walking around inside the night garden of my mind I consider it
Memory architect that I am
I write
I build diligently
I build by night
I tear down every hallway
I tear down every chandelier
Teardrop by teardrop
Until I cannot see
I build diligently
I build by night
With my hollowed out lust
Waiting outside like a good dog on a chain
Obedient
Thirsty
Dried out like laundry or potpourri on the windowsill in the sun sits a journal bound by my many unending
Pretend futures
Did I build this?
And I wonder who’s really ghosting who
And why do all my exes live in here
Together?
Trying to start fires?
Inside the night garden of my mind I consider it
Memory architect that I am
Did I build this?
All I know is
The silence of the garden
The iron clad floodgates against my back
An explosion against my angel wings
Petals, feathers, daggers flying everywhere
As I’m walking out
And I’m screaming our love and it barks right back
I press down hard
Hands meet concrete
I ground our hurt
Betrayals made against us both years ago
They love to show off
And I hand it all back
Skyward
To the night that watches
I am laughing?
As water washes me away
Down the street
And I hand it all back
Skyward
